I have an Excel program that I want to put on an Apple laptop and I can't find out how to do it. It's 2013 Office on both machines.

Can you help me out?

Hi JPK,

Excel 2013 is not available for the Mac, nor are the Excel 2010 or Excel 2007 versions. If you need to install Excel on a Mac you will need to purchase a Mac version of Excel.

The latest versions of Excel for the Mac is Excel 2016, but you should be aware that it is not the same as Excel 2016 for Windows. The Mac version of Excel 2016 does not have all of the features of Excel 2016 for Windows and behaves differently in many ways. This is why we offer a separate course for Excel 2016 for Mac OS X.

The Excel 2016 for Mac OS X course can be purchased in book or e-book form from our books page.

You can also find a list of feature differences between the Mac and Windows versions of Excel 2016 in this forums post.

Earlier versions of Excel for the Mac include Excel 2011 and Excel 2008, but again these are not directly equivalent to any Windows version.

I hope this is the information you were looking for, but please feel free to reply if you have any more questions.

If you had Excel 2016 on a Mac it doesn't sound like you can transfer an Excel program from Windows at that time either, Is Office 365 offered for Mac's and can you then run Excel on that rented software?

Yes, Office 365 will allow you to install Excel 2016 on both Windows and Mac computers.
