Workbooks order at taskbar

The order of workbooks on the taskbar is a Windows feature rather than an Excel one.
Windows doesn't allow you to change the order of icons on the taskbar, but you can disable the feature that groups them together into single icons. To do so, right-click on the taskbar, click Taskbar Settings and set Combine taskbar buttons to Never.
There are also add-ons available that enable you to sort taskbar icons, but this feature isn't available in a standard copy of Windows.
