Dear Paul

I'm guessing that the problem is that instead of typing NOW you have typed NOW + <Enter Key>

Here are the five steps listed in the book:

1. Type Current Date and Time into cell A15.
2. Click on cell B15.
3. Type =NOW
4. Press the <Tab> key twice.
5. If necessary, widen columns A and B so that they are wide enough to see all of their contents.

If you follow this carefully (and do not press the <Enter> key after typing NOW) you should find that everything works perfectly.

If the above information does not enable you to solve the problem let me know (along with the version of Excel 2016 you are using).

Best Regards

I didn't see this problem entered before so if this is a duplicate question I apologize.

Lesson 3-14 Understand common time functions and convert date serial numbers to decimal values.

Page 131

Step 1    Type current date and time into cell A15

Step 2    Click on cell B15

    Step 3    Type =NOW

Whenever I clicked in B15 and entered =NOW, I kept getting a #NAME error. No matter what cell I clicked in I got that error.

The only way I could get it work was to enter +NOW()

Did I miss something?
